How it all began

Samuel and Lindsay met in May 2020 — right as the world decided everyone should stay home. What started with every trail around Santa Cruz turned into a mission to conquer California's national parks, one blister at a time. Turns out a pandemic is a great time to fall in love.

Life together has been one long highlight reel: breakfast quesadillas before morning bike rides, a trip to Portugal, a train up to Seattle that somehow became a van-life glamping expedition. They both love skiing (Sam has the torn ACL to prove it), and Lindsay brought the same fearless energy to the soccer pitch — where she has her own matching ACL trophy, participating now as super-spectator. Birthdays mean camping trips.

In 2022 they made Pryce St home, and in August 2023 their daughter Ella showed up and immediately stole the show. Now the three of them are ready to party in the redwoods — and they'd very much like you to join them.

Nestled in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Roaring Camp is one of Northern California's most magical settings. Ancient coast redwoods — some over 1,800 years old — stand as silent witnesses to the day we say "I do."

The venue sits along Bear Creek, surrounded by old-growth redwood groves, the scent of pine, and the gentle sound of a narrow-gauge railroad winding through the forest.

✈️ By Air

The closest airports are San Jose (SJC) — 45 min away — and San Francisco (SFO), about 75 min. Both offer rental cars and rideshare access.

🚗 By Car

From San Jose: Take Hwy 17 south to the Felton/Mt. Hermon exit, then follow signs to Roaring Camp. Parking at the venue is free.

🏨 Where to Stay

We recommend staying in Santa Cruz (15 min) or Scotts Valley (10 min). The hotel near our house is the Hampton Inn. Henry Cowells camping is nearby the Roaring Camp. More location recommendations to come.

🚕 Getting Around

We encourage rideshare (Uber/Lyft) so everyone can celebrate freely. The venue is located at the end of Graham Hill Rd — allow extra time for GPS quirks in the mountains.
